Sad Accident.---On Sunday last Mr. David Kimball an old and highly respected citizen of Bridgehampton, met with a sudden and violent death. He was riding a spirited horse not very far from his residence when turning a corner suddenly, he was thrown from the animal's back so violently as to break his shoulder, and otherwise so badly injured him that he died in about half an hour. His horse we understand returned home, when one of his sons mounted the horse and went back to see what the matter was and met some neighbors bringing him home. He was alive at the time, but unconscious and soon ceased to breathe. Mr. Kimball had a large family of grown up children most of whom are scattered throughout the country. He was an estimable man and his sudden death is sincerely regretted by his fellow citizens.

The above obituary was found in the Sandusky Library Genealogy Room, Sandusky, Michigan. Original was marked by the library as October 1875. No reference to the original source.

The 1851 Census of Canada, Grenville, Deux-Montagnes County, East (Quebec), Canada,; The 1861 Census of Lower Canada, Grenville, Argenteuil, Quebec, Canada,; and the 1870 United States Census of 1870, Bridgehampton Twp., Sanilac Co., MI, identify the children of David Kimball & Mary Anderson Kimball as David, William, Elizabeth, Margaret, Emily, Mary, Rachael, Georgianna, James, Jamima, Joseph, Chester, & Olivia.
