Funeral services for Polk W. Franks of Honey Grove were held at the West Funeral Chapel Sunday afternoon, January 28, at 3:00 o'clock. The Rev. Ed Gorom, pastor of the First Christian Church of which Mr. Franks was a member, was officiant and West Funeral Home made interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
Named pallbearers were Jessie Brantley, Bob Clark, Elden Harris, Gene Harris, W. J. (Dub) Harris and Don Parham.
Mr. Franks died at 5:00 o'clock, 27 Jan 1962, at the VA Center, Bonham. He had been ill for several years.
Born September 30, 1886 in Tennessee, his parents were Francis M. Franks and Martha Anderson Franks.
He was married to Mrs. Elizabeth Lovell, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two brothers, Herman Franks and Dowdy Franks both of Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
