Lowell R. Holmgren, 77, Hoyt Lakes, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 1994, in the Skilled Nursing Facility of White Community Hospital, Aurora. Born in Glenwood, Minn., he was a 1934 graduate of Thief River Falls High School. On Sept. 22, 1940, he married Ruth M. Lundmark in Chicago. Prior to World War II, he worked for the Soo Line Railroad in Thief River Falls and was a partner with his wife in Lundmark's Care, Bagley. He retired in 1981 as a yard master and foreman for Erie Mining Co., Hoyt Lakes. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hoyt Lakes. He was a ham radio operator for many years. His parents, Albin and Hanna Engen Holmgren, died previously. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Jon of Rapid City, S.D., and Gerald of Hoyt Lakes; a brother, Kenneth of Sun City, Ariz.; four sisters, Lucille Maltby of Hayward, Calif., Helen Larson of Dawson, Minn., and Barbara Ives of Minneapolis; six grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Faith Lutheran Church, Hoyt Lakes. Burial will be in Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Timothy Robinson VFW Post of Hoyt Lakes. Arrangements are by Ziemer-Moeglein Funeral Home, Aurora.
