Funeral of Mahlon Stout

The funeral of Mahlon Stout, who died night before last at his home near Plymouth, was held at Cottonwood church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The remains were interred in Cottonwood cemetery. Mahlon Stout was one of the heroic figures of Lyon county. He came here in the early days and helped blaze the way with a heroic hand for advancing civilization of the country. He was foremost in all good work and was ever a patron of every church and school enterprise. Of hardy, rugged, honest character, the mark of his progressive hand can be seen in many enterprise for the betterment of the community. His death is a distinct loss to the community. Peace to his ashes.
