Jack served as a Lieutenant Commander and Intelligence Officer, U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Dansville, Livingston County, New York prior to the war.

Jack was last seen alive on June 28, 1944 when he was going to search the arsenal at Cherbourg Harbor in France. He was later found floating in the war near the E-boat pens. He had been shot and killed.

It is currently unknown who shot him.
