... a grounds-keeper (Joe) drove me to the Ancora State "cemetery" ... along a morbid camp-ground-quality rutted dirt path behind locked gates which eventually led us to an open field.

Before we reached the burial field, in the woods I spotted a new baby dear -- Bambi-like, spotted with white polka-dots.

I took that to be a good sign and that Jackie knew I was coming to find her.

Before returning home, I stoped at a local nursery - glancing around inside the hot-house, I spotted the hind-end of a butterfly -- unnaturally still -- yet boldly sticking out from within the bud of a plant. (PHOTO)

Gently placing the b'fly on a tissue, I brought it home with me ... I call it the "silent by-stander."

All in all -- it's been a wearying day ... if you need any questions answered -- ask away ...

At first glance, nothing appeared to be in this sun-lit field.

No grave stones. No manicured lawns. No flowers. There was no sign of anything except weed growings. This field must be the size of two football lengths and widths.

We walked to the center ... upon closer inspection, after clearing away tall grasses and weeds, I saw a foot-wide cement row, about 100 feet long. Nailed to this cement row were 3" x 5" metal name plaques.

Jackie's plate is disattached and may become lost to some future lawn mower . . . to be lost to Time . . .
