Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie Berry Parker Coaker, 78, of Lucedale were held July 27 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Lucedale.

She was a native of Shivers, and a resident of Lucedale for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She died July 24 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson following an extended illness.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Rev. Johnny Walker of Winona and Lyndia and Fred L. Mathis of Collins, two son, Phillip A. and Barbara Parker, Jr. of Lucedale and Waymon H. and Maxine Parker of Ntachez; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Ruth Norris of Prentiss, Jean King and Frances Frazier, both of Gulfport.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Newt Coaker; a sister, Gertrude Slay of Pinola; and a brother, Malcolm Berry of Prentiss.

Services were conducted by Rev. John Turner. Interment was at 2:30 p.m. at Stonewall Baptist Church Cemetery in Shivers community, Simpson County. George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Jimmy Abernathy, Lawrence Walker, Clint Walker, Waymon Parker, Jr.; Billy DuBose, Scottie Parker, Todd Ham and Danny Turner. Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Carraway, Cecil Bufkin, John Carraway, Mike Bragg, Arnold Brashier, David Schultz and Ed Smith.
