Theodore A. Beckman, 63, died unexpectedly at his cabin on Bassett Lake, Monday evening, May 6, of a heart attack. He was born December 18, 1899 in Hibbing and came here with his parents in 1909 and lived in this area most of his life. He was the owner of Beckman Store in Brimson and also was engaged in the logging business for many years. Rev. Thomas Smith of Duluth officiated at rites conducted at the Bassett Town Hall on Thursday, May 9, with burial in the Brimson Cemetery. The Johnson Funeral Home of Two Harbors was in charge. Surviving are his wife, Irja; two sons, Donald, Grand Marais, and Glen, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three brothers, Arnold, Fred, and Clarence all of Brimson; two sisters, Mrs. Ilmari (Mamie) Laaksonen, Two Harbors, and Mrs. Thorston (Bertha) Olson, Madison, Wisconsin; and four grandchildren; three nephews and three nieces.
