The funeral of Mrs. Letice Davis was held at the house of her daughter, Mrs. Lucinda L. Higley, last Wednesday. The services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Spencer, pastor of the Baptist church, of which the deceased was a member for forty-five years. He was assisted by rev. C. S. Agan of the Congregational church. A quartet of the choir of the Baptist church sung appropriate selections. The brief allusions to the life of Mrs. Davis by Rev. Mr. Spencer, were most appropriate. The interment was in the cemetery on the old farm near Yokum pond, where Mrs. Davis was born and always lived until about twenty-five years ago, and where her parents and husband and other relatives are buried. N. A. Davis of Florence, had a cement wall built around the cemetery a few years ago and it is properly cared for.
