FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. BROBECK

Funeral services for Mrs. Ed BROBECK, who died Thursday afternoon after a short illness, were held Saturday from the Congregational church. Rev. Samuel Freeman officiated and Mrs. F. Bowen accompanied By Mrs. Jack Neish sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden." Pallbearers were L. L. BROWN, Clay MONSON, James BOWDEN, Frank SQUIRE and Russell OHMAN. Burial was in the Steamboat cemetery.

Lida BOWERS was born April 22, 1878, in Joliet, Illinois. She came to Steamboat Springs in 1899 to visit an uncle and here met and married Edwin BROBECK on Christmas eve, 1899. The couple celebrated their gold wedding anniversary on December 26, last year, when a reception was held at the family home at Third and Pine streets. At that time they were thought to be the first couple to have been married and lived all their fifty years of married life in Steamboat Springs.

Mrs. BROBECK was an active member of the Congregational church, the Royal Neighbors and the Crochet club. Her pleasant disposition made friends for her wherever she went.

Surviving are her husband, Edwin BROBECK, and their four sons, Harold V.; Golden, Colorado, Elden E. and James Wilfred, Boise, Idaho and Charles J., Steamboat Springs.

All of the children and their wives arrived to be with their mother for a short time before her death. Others from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James BROBECK, Fort Collins; Mrs. Minnie MORGAN, Wheatridge; Mrs. Brice HALL, Boulder and Mr. and Mrs. Edward FLANSBURG, Golden.
