Lucy took part in many of the town's activities. She served as a Hollis telephone operator for 31 years and was a dispatcher for the Hollis Fire Company for many years. During that time she wrote a history of this organization. For this and her many other contributions to this organization she was made an honorary member of the department. She served the town also in her tireless efforts to record the town's history. She photographed all the district school buildings and many of the old homes in Hollis as well as writing down their history for future generations. Many of her works are available at the Hollis Historical Society and the Hollis Social Library. She was a Hollis High School Graduate in 1908.
