He was not originally part of the air crew, but rather a member of Crew 74, 755th Squadron. When between missions, he volunteered for the Ford's Folly mission, and was placed as a gunner.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on Dec 16, 1941 at Newark, NJ. He was noted at being a machinist and single, with no dependants.
Harry was declared MIA when his B-24 was hit with flak and exploded over Lake Glindow, Werder (Havel), Germany on Mar 6, 1944. Out of the crew of 10, 2 were captured and held as POW's, 6 were KIA, and 2 were MIA.
