Martha, of Clifford Lake, Stanton, passed away Wednesday morning, at her home under the loving care of her family and InHouse Hospice after a short illness.
She was born the only daughter of Joseph & Matilda (Starman) VanCura. The family moved soon to Chicago, and then to Grand Haven, Michigan where she attended school.

During World War II, she worked in defense facilities in Grand Haven, Muskegon, and Chicago. On October 13, 1945 she married Theodore R. Beaderstadt. They made their home in Lansing, Michigan until his retirement from Fisher Body when they moved to Clifford Lake in 1976.

Martha was known for her garden, and until she got sick in April, was still working with her flowers and strawberries. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star in Stanton and was a Lutheran.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, on January 30, 2009; by her parents; four brothers; and an infant son, James. Surviving are two sons, Ted Jr. (Kathy) Beaderstadt of Saugatuck, and the Rev. Jan (Barbara) of Beaderstadt of Turner and Senerganti Mission, Bangladesh; and six grandchildren.

Ceremonies will be officiated by her son, the Rev. Jan L. Beaderstadt, along with the Rev. Carl Q. Litchfield of Bellaire, and Bernice "Deno" Sorrels, Assistant in Ministry of Faith Lutheran Church of Sidney. Burial will follow in South Sidney Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Renaissance Outreach Ministries for the purpose of building a garden in Bangladesh in Martha's memory. Envelopes will be available at the church.
