Her gravestone spells her nickname "Pollie", & her death cert. has it "Polly". Before 1950, legal records were far less legalistic than today. Since the family paid for the grave marker, I feel more confident that the family made sure that her nickname was spelled on the stone as she usually spelled it. So, I strongly favor "Pollie".

Her family owned much property near the present-day highway #378 & I-20 interchange, the home she grew up in being where the fire department substation is on River Road near the south beginning of Corley Mill Road, Lexington County, S. C.
