MRS. HENDERSON BACK
FROM WINTER ABROAD,
VISITS SISTER HERE
Mrs. Eva Henderson of Las Cruces is spending a few days as the guest of her sister, Mrs. Susie Shattuck. Mrs. Henderson, who is a former Carlsbad resident, is returning home from seven months abroad.
During the winter months, she and her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Hervey and her two children took a villa at Palma and Mallorca, in the Mediterranean. On her return, Mrs. Henderson toured Italy, France, Spain, Africa and Cuba. The Herveys remained at Palma for a longer stay while Hazel continues with her art study. They will return to their home in El Paso later by plane.
Christian Science services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Graham's Mortuary Chapel for Eva Pendleton Henderson, 96, of 1101 Boutz Road, who died Wednesday in El Paso, Texas.
George Martin of the First Church of Christian Science will be the reader. Cremation has taken place.
Mrs. Henderson, a well-known Las Crucen, moved here almost 41 years ago, after the death of her husband.
During the early part of her life, she was rancher and wagon driver at the ranch she and her husband operated in Cloverdale, near Hobbs.
Later, she was author of a book, "Wild Horses," which was published by Sunstone Press in 1982. Her work was also published in New Mexico Magazine.
She is survived by a daughter, Hazel Pendleton Hervey of El Paso, a son, George Ladd Pendleton of Cloverdale, New Mexico; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist, 325 W. Mountain Road, Las Cruces, New Mexico, 88005.
