Thomas H. Angle,(Son of Thomas Angle & Eveline Parrish) Died, at his home on Church Street, at an early hour Thursday morning, Thomas Angle aged 77 years. For more than a year Mr. Angle was the victim of an insidious disease that failed to yield to skillful treatment and as it progressed his sufferings grew more and more intense and the end brought sweet relief. His days of affliction were brightened by the devotion and constant attention of his wife and the attention and sympathy of his friends. Mr. Angle was a native of Alabama and there grew to manhood. ( My comment at this point is the younger second wife, due to a time spand, added her impressions. Thomas was born in Georgia and married his first wife in Alabama.) ) At the first call for volunteers in the Civil War, he enlisted in an Alabama regiment and served the four years of that terrible conflict, At the close of the war he came to Mississippi and settled at Baldwyn, where he held a position with the Mobile & Ohio Railroad Company. From Baldwyn he moved to Tupelo more than 30 years ago and has made his home here ever since. In business matters, Mr. Angle displayed sound judgement and was recognized as one of the city's most substantial and reliable citizens. He was a quiet, unostentatious man and his life was marked by charity and sympathy for his fellow-man. Deceased leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. J. T. Wilkes, of Jackson, Tennessee, one son and a number of grandchildren to mourn his loss. The funeral; services were conducted Tuesday Morning from the residence on Church Street, where a number of friends gathered to pay their last tribute of respect.. Rev. Geo. P. Scott, paster of the Presbyterian Church, conducted the services.
