World War I United States Army Officer. He served in the United States Army during World War I as a 1st Lieutenant in Company M, 309th Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division, AEF. He was mortally wounded on November 1, 1918 at Grand Pre, France.

He was interred in Plot A, Row 1, Grave 6 of the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery. His family erected a cenotaph for him in their plot in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York City, New York.
