JAMES JACKSON IS PNEUMONIA VICTIM IN FRENCH HOSPITAL
Word was received from Washington last evening by Mrs. E.D. Somerville of 210 Central av., that her foster son James Jackson, who enlisted in the 15th NY Infantry in April 1917, and had been in France a year, had died of pneumonia on Dec. 27. The young man was highly respected by all who knew him. In all his letters to his mother and friends he never forgot his church. He had been made a Corporal a few months ago. This young colored man had been an orderly at the Hackensack Hospital for more than a year, and Miss Stone and the nurses say he was always attentive and courteous. He had written to Miss Stone , the superintendent and recently said he was glad he would soon be coming back to the hospital. The news of his death was keenly regretted at the hospital this morning.
