From Obituary published in the Oregon Statesman on October 3, 1913:

"Cady - Edwin L. Cady died yesterday afternoon at the home of his son Marion Cady, 1086 Center Street as the result of a paralyzing stroke received in Eugene Monday.

Edwin L. Cady was a member of Sedgwick post G.A R. The funeral will be held from the Jason Lee Memorial church Sunday at 2 p.m. His home was at Salem Heights and he had been visiting friends in Eugene when he received the stroke of paralysis. He was brought to this city Wednesday in a serious condition."
