The announcement of the sudden death of Mrs. J. B. Grieves of Ladysmith on Tuesday afternoon was a shock to the relatives, old friends and neighbors of the deceased living in this city and vicinity. She has not been in robust health for some time but her death was wholly unexpected, being the result of heart disease. Beside her husband, who of late has been employed in Minnesota, Mrs. Grieves leaves one son and five daughters, namely, John Grieves of Park Falls, Mrs. Peter Larson, Mrs. Fred Lupient and Mrs. William Wilcott, of this city, and Misses Violet and Robin Grieves, who lived with their mother. Immediately upon receipt of the sad news, Peter Larson went to Park Falls to make arrangements for having the body brought to Marshfield for interment, and the funeral will be held from his home tomorrow. Mrs. Grieves lived in the town of Lincoln many years and sold her property which is now a part of the John P. Hume farm about two years ago. Not long afterward she moved with her two daughters to Ladysmith, the county seat of the recently created county of Gates. The funeral was held from the M. E. Church Friday afternoon. Deceased's only son, John Grieves, of Park Falls, accompanied by his wife, attended the funeral.
