Isabella, was born in 1833 or 1834. She was named for her grandmother Isabella Maria Hazzard Floyd and for her aunt Sarah Catherine Wigg Floyd de LaRoche au Lion. She grew up in Laurens County, Georgia, and moved with her mother to Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia, in the 1850's. In May 1860, she was living there, in the home of her sister Fannie Maria Blackshear Blackshear. By November 1860, Isabella had moved with the family to Macon.

Died, In the city of Macon, 30th ultimo, Miss Isabella, daughter of the late Major James Hamilton Blackshear, of Laurens County, and granddaughter of the late Gen. John Floyd.

GEORGIA, BIBB COUNTY:
Whereas J. Emmett Blackshear applies to the undersigned for Letters of Administration upon the estate of Miss Isabella S. Blackshear, late of said county, deceased:
These are therefore to cite and admonish all and singular the kindred and creditors of said deceased, to be and appear at the Court of Ordinary on the first Monday in April next, to show cause if any they have, why letters of administration should not be granted the applicant.
Given under my hand and official signature, this February, 26th, 1862. WM. M. RILEY, Ordinary.
