AGED RESIDENT OF VARNA SUMMONED

Mrs. Johanna Sophia Lundgren of Varna, died at her home Sunday morning, May 16, 1937, at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 9 days. She had been in failing health for the past two years, but was able to help with the household duties until about eight weeks ago.

Mrs. Lundgren, whose maiden name was Lindgren, was born in Sweden July 7, 1847. She came to America in 1870, and had been a faithful member of the First Lutheran church ever since. She was married to S. J. Lundgren on July 11, 1871, in the parsonage at Oxbow.

The family moved to Varna January 12, 1900. Her busband preceded her in death on April 6, 1918. She has been tenderly cared for by her daughter, Miss Nina Lundgren, public school nurse at Streator, IL, and son, Emil, who stayed at home.

Funeral services were held from the home at 1:30 and at 2 o'clock at the First Lutheran church the following Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. K. A. Nilsson, officiating.

Mrs. Signe Nelson and Mrs. Edith Holmstrom sang, "Abide With Me," and Eleanor Nelson and Viola Stromgren sang one of Mrs. Lundgren's favorite songs in the Swedish language.
