Delmar William Crow, is my Papa. He married his wife Louise and they had 3 sons. His first born son, a twin, Darrel, went to Heaven 2 months after he was born. The surviving twin Shirrel, and 2 yrs later, their 3 son Byron. Papa was a wonderful man. If he seen me 3 times in the same day, he was just as happy the third time as he was the first! The harshest word I ever heard him say, he would call someone a "Joker". That was it. I also rememeber how patient he was. When Granny would want to go to the mall shopping with her sister, he would take them, and would scoot to each sitting area in the mall as the two women would shop, and he would people watch. Granny and her sister Wanda would shop at the mall all day long and papa would move from bench to bench and not complain. My sons know all about their Papa Delmer, and they will pass your memory Papa on to their children. When Papa was very sick and getting ready to go to Heaven because of his bad heart, he woke up from a coma and told us that he was the nail and came back to hammer the message home to all of his loved ones that Jesus was coming soon and to make our lives right.
One other time, as he as passing on to Heaven, he was talking and his eyes were open. We were all sitting there hearing what he was saying. Jesus was walking with him in Heaven. He said "Jesus, it is beautiful here. It is snowing and it isn't even cold". Papa laid there looking all around his room, and we all were there with him, and knew exactly where he was. He was in Heaven, and he was able to share a little bit of it with us.
Thank you Papa for all that you taught me.
I Love you Papa and I sure do miss you!
My Papa's dad was Auther Crow of KS. His mom was Dollie Burdick Crow of MO. Papa was a Stillman for Gulf Oil Refinery, for 35yrs. Papa died of Pancreatitis, Cardiac Hypertrophy & dialiation, & Coronary Atherosclerosis.
