ORANGE, CA - Normel Carroll, 84, of Orange, California went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 20, 2009, while surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, California.
Normel was born July 23, 1924 in Carter county Kentucky to Thomas Carroll and Ruth Holbrook Carroll.
He retired medically from Mansfield Tire & Rubber Co. in 1967. He moved to California in 1986 with his wife Velma.
He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church and a Christian for 50 years. His past times were his dog, going to garage sales and thrift stores, reading his Bible and watching sports. He was very loving and kind and will be greatly missed by everyone.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Cantrill Miller and son-in-law, Ronald Miller; one brother, Argus & Leola Carroll, Mansfield; one sister, Emma & Eury Barker, Grayson, Kentucky; one stepbrother, Kenneth & Loretta Carroll, Mansfield; three stepsisters, Evelyn Greenhill, Kentucky,
and Bertha Blevins and Susan Blevins, Mansfield; He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Velma Carroll; and daughter, Sheila; his parents; grandparents; three bothers; and three sisters.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Fairhaven Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, California 92705.
Funeral services will be at 2:30pm Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Fairhaven Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairhaven Cemetery.
