D. R. DePriest, Widely Known Coal Man, Dies

Becoming ill last Saturday and rushed to the Uniontown hospital when pneumonia developed, David R. DePriest, prominent Masontown coal man, died this morning at 6:15 o'clock. Mr. DePriest would have been 65 years old on April 10 of this year.
For the past 29 years, Mr. DePriest was superintendent of the Griffen No. 2 mine of the Hecla Coal and Coke company, and was well known in the Masontown district.
Surviving are his widow, Mary; three children, Winifred and Harry, at home, and Mrs. Charles Cravotta of Pittsburgh; and his mother, Mrs. Celina DePriest of Masontown.
Rev. R. J. Shields of Masontown will officiate at the funeral services at the Masontown Presbyterian church on Sunday at 2 o'clock. Members of the Scottdale Masonic lodge will participate in the burial services at Alverton.
