He was a construction laborer with Local 557 before retiring. He was a proud member of Local 557 for more than 50 years. He attended McKinney Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming and gardening. He also liked to share what he had grown in his garden. He also enjoyed singing while on his tractor.
Survivors include his wife, Wilmeeta "Billie" Bradley of Marion; three sons and daughters-in-law, Everett Eugene and"Margaret Bradley of Fitzgerald, Ga., Paul Lavern and Carmen Bradley of Warrenville, and Cecil Ray and Lisa Bradley of Marion; one step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Dennis and Kim Followell of Benton; one step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Brenda and Jerry McClerren of Murphysboro; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; four step-greatgrandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Mary Evelyn Bradley and Urel Hansel and Nina Bradley, all of Batavia; and one sister and brother-in-law, Rosalea and Jim Schuman of North Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; one daughter, Dorothy Irene Bradley; one granddaughter, Belinda Bradley; and six sisters, Amanda Mae Siercks, Ma vie Peterman, Dimple (Bradley) Cook, Nora Overstreet, Clara Gillespie and Thelma Overstreet.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Dunford officiating. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the funeral home.
