LeRay Township has been rather unfortunate this winter in the death of several old residents, among the number being J. L. Burgess Esq., otherwise known as Attorney Burgess, who died the 15th inst., of consumption, aged 52 years. Mr. Burgess was one of Minnesota's earliest settlers, locating at Eagle Lake in 1856; served in the Civil War and also assisted to quell the murderous Sioux in this State.
