Mrs. Sarah E. Pewett died Monday at the home of her son, Mr. Polk Goad, at Theta, at the advanced age of seventy-three years. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church at Theta Tuesday by Revs. Isom and Hatcher, and the remains were laid to rest in the graveyard at Union. Deceased leaves surviving her a husband and seven children, to whom the deepest sympathy is expressed. -- Columbia Herald, 23 Mar 1900.
