Shirley Finley Huber, fondly called "Nana" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a longtime resident of La Porte and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida passed away March 31, 2010.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Jerome F. Huber; her six children, Sharon Sweeney, Charles Jr., Kathy, Paul, Martin and David; her half-sister, Jackie Kovacs; stepdaughters, Leane Rosmonowski and Jane Jonas; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Frieda Scheive McCartney; Charles O. Finley, the father of her eight children; two sons, James and Luke; and stepdaughter, Ann Marie Walters.

Shirley was active in the community over the years faithfully supporting the Salvation Army of La Porte and Ft. Lauderdale. In La Porte she served on the Salvation Army Board of Directors, the La Porte Hospital Auxiliary and the Ruth Sabin Home.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. CDT, Saturday, July 31 at the Eason Memorial Chapel at Pine Lake Cemetery with interment following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army of La Porte.
