Spencer Garfield Dowell, 85, of Harrell Hill Road, died April 10, 2001. He was the son of the late Ed and Arlena Price Dowell. A member of Rockdale Baptist Church, he was a machine operator retired from Henredon Furniture Company.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Forbes Dowell of the home; four daughters, Lois Gwin and Wanda Dowell of Marion, VA, Sharon Gregory of Johnson City, TN., and Donna Hall of Blountville, TN., two sons, Roger Dowell of Morristown, TN., and Donald Dowell of Bakersville; two sisters, Madge Mills of Hamilton, OH., and Geneva Levering of Cherryville, PA., three brother, Fred Dowell of Mtn. City, TN., Robert Dowell of Hamilton, OH., and Junior Dowell of Nevada; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
