Fred Mack Dowell, age 87, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord on Friday morning November 6, 2009 at Blue Ridge Senior Living. He was the son of the late Stanley and Arlena Dowell. Fred was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Mountain City, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Dowell; Two sisters; Edith Snyder and husband Coy, Geneva Levering and husband Charles and four brothers; Ray Dowell, Roy Dowell and wife Leona, Spencer Dowell and former wife Lucille and Lester Dowell.

Survivors include: one sister; three sisters-in-law; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Fred Dowell will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux~Lipford~Teague Funeral Home with Pastors Frank Woods and Jim Hutchinson officiating. Vocals will be sung by Jerry Horne and Pam Issacs. Graveside services and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be family and friends of First Freewill Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of First Freewill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm prior to the funeral service.
