Gertrude E. Allen Funeral Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude E. Allen, 73, of 1712 Palisade, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Broadway Mortuary with the Rev. Harold Soulen, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, Hutchinson, Kan., officiating.
Mrs. Allen, who has been in failing health for several years, died Wednesday night en route to St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born Feb. 10, 1882, in Bourbon County, Kan., and came to Wichita, 12 years ago from Lenexa, Kan.
Mrs. Allen was a member of First Methodist Church, Stark, Kan.; Order of the Eastern Star, Adda Chapter, Lenexa; Queen City Rebekah Lodge, Wichita; and Royal Neighbors, Wichita.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse James Allen; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Updike; and a granddaughter, Joy Updike, both of 1639 N. Clarence.
Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
