Graveside Rites Here For Jesse J. Allen

Graveside services for Jesse James Allen, 88, of 1639 N. Clarence, retired blacksmith for Kimball and Stark, Olathe, Kan., and former Lenexa, Kan., mayor, who died Thursday, were Friday in Wichita Park Cemetery.

Born in Sycamore, Kan., he came to Wichita in 1943 from Lenexa. He had been mayor of Lenexa in the early 1930s.

He was a member of the, Methodist church, Walnut, Kan., Masonic Lodge, and Odd Fellows.

Survivors include a daughter,, Mrs. Edna Updike, Wichita; a brother, Harold, Independence, Kan., and two sisters, Mrs. Estelle Watkins, and Miss Grace Allen, both of Fairfield; Calif.

Cochran Mortuary had charge.
