Jay Golden Ballard, 50, of Mechanicsville, VA, formerly of Beckley, passed away Tuesday 5:15 am in a Richmond VA hospital. He was born in Mabscott July 13, 1919, the son of the late Jay Golden and Lara Taylor Ballard. He was married to the former Wilma Kirby Oct 22, 1938. She survives him at home. Survivors included three sisters Mrs George (Violet) Serafine of Yardley, PA, Mrs Ola (Pansy) Grose and Mrs James (Daisy) Cassity, three brothers Paul, James and Carl of Montgomery AL, three daughters Mrs Dwayne (Betty Jean) Wingler, Mrs Howard (Rita) Dorr and Mrs Richard (Connie Sue) Meadows and a son Jay Gene of Richmond and three grandchildren. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
