Obituary - Mrs Lillian Elliott
Funeral services for Mrs Lillian Elliott, formerly of Akron, but later of Sterling, were conducted from the First Presbyterian Church in Akron, Monday afternoon, February 9, with the Rev Lloyd Hindman in charge. Interment was in the Akron Cemetery.

Mrs Lillian Alvina Elliott, 73, of Sterling, passed away at her home, February 5, 1976. She was born July 26, 1902, at Concordia, Kansas to Samuel and Mary Horkman. She received her education in that area.

On August 18, 1919, she was united in marriage to Walter R Elliott at Topeka, Kansas and to this union two daughters and a son were born.

In 1931, they came to Washington County, Colorado, settling in the High Prairie area south of Otis, where they engaged in ranching and farming.

After retirement, they moved to Akron and other areas in which they lived included Brush, Fort Collins and Wellington. They moved to Sterling in 1971. She attended the First Methodist Church in Sterling.

Her interests in life were her husband, children and home. She loved the outdoors, working with her flowers and garden, and was always willing to give a helping hand, and doing for others. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Walter; daughters, Mrs Maxine Heater of Commerce City and Mrs Aileen Schmidt of Akron; son John Elliott of Longmont; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Nellie Await of Scandia, Kansas, and a brother, Samuel Horkman of Topeka, Kansas, and other relatives and friends.
