Services for Nels Kelson, who died Saturday in Kankakee, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Our Savior Lutheran church.
The Rev. Walter Kemnitz officiated and burial was in the Shrontz cemetery.
Mr. Kelson who was born Aug. 9, 1876 in Denmark, had resided in Momence since he was 13 years old.
In 1941 he retired after working with the C&EI railroad for 51 years. He was a member of the Old Rails, a railway men’s organization.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Richard Kurth of Momence; sons, Elmer of Momence and Alfred of Evergreen Park; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and sisters, Mrs Mary Olson and Mrs. Martin Nelson, both of Momence.
The Canaday-Boos Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Dewey Hall, H.B. Stoakley, George Turrell, Vee Cox, Harry Illum and J.C. Martin.
