THE LAMPASAS LEADER
JULY 28, 1899

A stranger by the name of Sheffield died at the Hanna Springs Sunday morning of consumption. He had been an invalid for more than ten years, and was traveling with the hope of getting a longer lease on life. He was without means, and a collection was taken up Sunday morning to purchase burial clothes, a coffin, and to prepare a grave.
