Pickett was the son of Henry Bruce Callahan and Sarah Hall Metcalfe. He married Sarah Agnes Cunningham. Some sources list his name as Pickett Metcalfe Callahan.

Pickett L. Callahan died September 5, 1922 at Rocky Ford (Colorado). Masonic services will be conducted by Denver Lodge #5 A.F. & A.M. at Fairmont (cemetery) at 1 p.m. today."
Pickett and Sarah Agnes Callahan had 4 children; Marjorie (1894-1983 She never married), Mary (married Clarence Benedict Govreau), Adeline Fredonia (1882-1965 married William Hoblitt Ritchie), and Claude Henry (1877-1909 married Jessie Shela House--they had one child: Neel Lathrop Callahan).
