Bachman died Thursday at a Rapid City hospital.
He was born Dec. 25, 1898, near Odessa, Russia. He moved with his parents to the United States when four and to Faith in 1910 when they homesteaded seven miles south of town. He married Anna C. Geiken in September 1925. They continued ranching until retiring and moving to Faith in 1966.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Bernard and Leonard, Rapid City, and Ronald, Faith; sister, Lydia Williams, Hot Springs, and six grandchildren.
Three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
A memorial is established to St. Paul's Church.
