Obituary, The Columbia Daily Tribune, June 10, 2010:

Norma Falloon, 81, of Harrisburg passed away Tuesday, June 8, at Boone Hospital Center.

Chapel service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Norma was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Boone County, to Fred and Beulah Hatton Wade, and they preceded her in death. On May 27, 1951, she married Ernest Falloon in Columbia, and he survives.

Norma met Ernest while teaching in a one-room school at Richland School. She graduated from Central Methodist College. She then taught for nine years at Harrisburg schools. She retired from State Farm Insurance Cos. after 33 years of service. After retirement, Norma volunteered at Meals on Wheels, American Red Cross, University Hospital, Columbia Visitor Center, University Concert Series, Show-Me State Games and many other organizations and events. Norma and Ernest loved to travel. They traveled all over the world, visiting every continent except for Antarctica. She is a member of Woodlandville United Methodist Church.

She is also survived by one daughter, Sandy Falloon of Columbia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Doris and Herb Condra of Columbia and Louis and Donna Falloon of Sullivan; and many other family members, including many of Sandy's friends whom Norma considered her own.

In lieu of flowers memorial, contributions may be sent to Meals on Wheels or charity of donor's choice.
