Winfield Scott Turnpaugh was born in 1864 in Kentucky, son of James William Turnpaugh (1822-1895) and Lobelia Jeffries (1829-1905).

On September 21, 1845 in Ohio, Winfield married Lobela Jeffries who was born in 1829 in Louisiana.

Services for Winfield S. Turnpaugh, 88, a retired farmer and carpenter of 1512 South Rockwood, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Memory Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Lexington. Turnpaugh died early Tuesday of a heart ailment in St. Anthony hospital.

He came to Oklahoma from Kentucky, his birthplace, in the early 1900s, settling at Lexington. Five years ago, he moved to Oklahoma City.
