Former Local man Dies At Napoleon, Ohio
Services Friday for David Neuhauser, 65
David Neuhauser, 65, Napoleon, Ohio, a native of French Township, died unexpectedly at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 513 West Washington Street. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Neuhauser were at Bryan, Ohio Monday afternoon and evening visiting with their daughter and family. They left for home at 11 p.m. and soon after arriving home he became ill and all efforts to save his life failed. He had not been ill before.
Mr. Neuhauser was born October 14, 1894, the son of Jacob and Rosanna Steiner Neuhauser. He was married to Wilma Habegger of this community. Before moving to Ohio, he was employed at the Winner House, Inc.
He had lived in Napoleon the last 18 years, moving there from Ridgeville Corners, Ohio. He was one of the founders of Neuhauser Hatcheries, Inc., and though retiring from active participation in the business in 1947, he continued as vice president and as director of the firm. He was a deacon in the Evangelical Mennonite Church, Archbold, Ohio, where he was a member.
Surviving is the wife; a son, Paul, Napoleon; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Rosebrock, Bryan, Ohio and Mrs. Romaigne Shafer, Napoleon, Ohio; eight grandchildren; five brothers, Edwin Neuhauser, Berne; Harry, West Unity, Ohio; Henry, Markle; Ezra and Menno, Napoleon.
A daughter, Joan, and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Sprunger and Mrs. Clifford Fluckinger, are deceased.
The body is at the Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon where friends may call. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Archbold, Rev. Harry E. Bertsche officiating. The body will then be brought here for graveside services at 3 p.m. in the M.R. E. Cemetery.
The body will lie in state from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday in the Memorial building in the cemetery and a short service will be there.
