John was my great great grandfather. John was the son of Hugh M. Rogers and Jane 'Jennie' Thompson. He married Missiniah Nail on 09-04-1833 in Lowdnes CO., MS. He died some time after Oct 5th 1855.
Missiniah was the daughter of Benjamin Nail and Leodicia 'Dicey' Rea. She is buried in AZ. John and Missiniah had the following children.
1.Dr. James R. Rogers who died from injuries received at the Battle of Munfordville in the Civil War. He was married to Susannah Maness. He died in Kentucky and is buried there, probably in a group grave of Confederate Soldiers.
2.Almira who was married to James Weeks and then to James Walsh.
3.Margaret Rogers who married William Harrison and
then Daniel N. Ford. (William was killed in the Civil War).
4.John Wesley Rogers Jr. (my ggrandfather) who married Margaret Elizabeth 'Mittie' Walker
5.Franklin Rogers who died at the Battle of Murfreesboro in the Civil War.
6.Martha Jane 'Mattie' who married John Lamar Reed
7. Sarah A.'Sallie' who married William Lester
8. Ellen 'Ella' who married John George Harden
