Mrs. Hermine Meier, beloved wife of William L. Meier of Elk Grove and fond mother of Margaret, Willard and Elroy passed to the great beyond on Monday, January 30.
She was the daughter of Mrs. Louise and the late John Rohlwing and daughter in law of Mr. and Mrs. George Meier.
Mrs. Meier was born January 27, 1896, in Elk Grove, and confirmed April 4, 1909, at St. Peter's Ev. Luth. Church of Schaumburg. She was united in holy wedlock with William L. Meier on January 12, 1913.
Two years ago she underwent an operation at a hospital in Chicago and for a time seemed to be well on the road to health. In August, 1927, her health began to fail and although all possible means were used to aid her she slowly became weaker. On Sunday, January 29, she was taken to the Evanston hospital and on Monday at 11 a.m. the angel of death called her to her eternal home. Throughout her entire siege of sickness she firmly maintained a cheerful disposition and unfailing courage.
She leaves to mourn her loss her bereaved husband, and children, sorrowing mother, mother in law, father in law, 5 sisters and 2 brothers; numerous other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the Ev. Lutheran church of Elk Grove on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. and she was laid to rest in the church yard adjoining the church.
