Mrs. Fred Pfingsten Crystal Lake
Mrs. Fred (Emma) Pfingsten, 85, of 9208 Ridgefield Road, Crystal Lake, formerly of Schaumburg, died Friday in Simpson Nursing Home, Elgin, following a brief illness. Born March 6, 1882, in Elk Grove Twp., she was the daughter of John and Louise Lichthardt Rohlwing. She was married to Fred Pfingsten, Sept. 3, 1903, in Schaumburg, where they lived for 56 years, before she moved to Crystal Lake five years ago. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Schaumburg. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Esther) Benhart of Lake Geneva, Wis.; two sons, Elmer J. of Hinsdale and Emil of Crystal Lake; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one brother, William Rohlwing of Mount Prospect; two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Martha) Oltendorf of Bartlett and Mrs. Louis (Anna) Meier of Mount Prospect. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nov. 28, 1963, one son, Edwin, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 1 Tuesday from St. Peter Lutheran Church, Schaumburg, with the Rev. John Sternberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Martin and Richart Funeral Home, Roselle, after 2 Sunday.
