Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Elkins East Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Elkins East Chapel, with nephews Gary and Tim Williams officiating. Burial will be at Civitan Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Favors; two daughters, Robbie Gautney and Pat Clark; grandchild, Lavern Gautney; great-grandson, Andrew Ryan Ritter; parents, William and Oneida Varnell; brother, Royce Varnell; sisters, Bess Dollar, Polly Varnell, Peggy Williams, and June Williams; and son-in-law, Junior Ritter.
Mrs. Favors is survived by daughter, Agnes Ritter; sons-in-law, Clellon Gautney and Rayburn Clark; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Varnell (Patsy), and Stewart Varnell; sister-in-law, Beulah Varnell; brother-in-law, George Williams; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She loved crocheting, flowers, traveling, and children. She graduated from Lauderdale County High School in 1928, and was Grand Marshall of the 2012-2013 LCHS Homecoming parade as the oldest living graduate of the high school.
She worked in the LCHS lunchroom for several years. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank a special little girl, Kyra Smith, for keeping Grandmother smiling and enjoying life for the past year and a half. The family would also like to thank Hospice of the Shoals, their nurses, and her caregivers for making her life more restful.
