Benjamin's parents were Henry Todd and Caroline Mishoe Todd, who both died when Benjamin was young. Benjamin's death certificate did not list his parents names, but Henry and Caroline were listed on his brother's death certificate. Benjamin lived with his grandparents, Richard Todd and Betsy Jordan Todd in 1860 and with his aunt Mary Todd in 1870.
He married Annie Lowrimore around 1878 and they had a 103 acre farm in Bucks Township in Horry County. He died of a stroke in 1932 when he was 78 years old.
