OBITUARY Iron River Reporter June 25 1956 "Services Today at 2 P.M. For Mrs. Dobson, 89". The funeral for Mrs. John Dobson Sr., 89, who died Saturday morning, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in First Presbyterian church with Dr. Ernest E. Schroeder officiating. The remains are at the Duvall Funeral Home and will be brought to the church at 1 p.m. to be in state until the time of services.
Mrs. Mathilda Dobson was born in Ireland May 7, 1867 and came to this country as a young woman. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Gutreuter, Escanaba, and Mrs. Elizabeth (George) Baker, Indian Lake; and three sons, John and George of Iron River & William of Toronto, Ontario. There are 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dobson resided in the Iron River area for 50 years, and had made her home with her daughter in Escanaba for the past 15 years. Her husband died in July, 1948 [July, 1933].
