Harold Baughman, 83, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at Northside Christian Fellowship on Colburn-Culver Road with Pastor Keith Goullette officiating. Private interment will take place in the Pack River Cemetery.

Harold was born June 1, 1923, in Baughman Settlement, W.V., the oldest of eight children. He grew up in Winchester, Virginia and joined the Army Air Corps in 1943. He served in Italy and left the service in 1945. While in the service, Harold helped with the development of the Pathfinder Radar System for the B-24s.

Harold married Melva See on Aug. 4, 1945, in Baltimore, Md. In 1952 they moved to San Diego, Calif., and later in 1956 opened a TV sales and service store with his partner, Gene O'Brien.

He was elected president of the California State Electronics Association in 1973 and served for one year. He retired in 1988.

Harold was active in El Cajon First Presbyterian Church for many years, serving as both a deacon and elder. When he retired, he dedicated his time to serving his church in many capacities.

They moved to Sandpoint in 1998 to be closer to their daughter and grandsons. At that time, he became active in Northside Christian Fellowship.

Harold is survived by his wife, Melva Baughman of Sandpoint; a son,of Darmstadt, Germany; a daughter, of Sandpoint; brothers, of Quincy, Pa., of Indian Rock Beach, Fla., and E of Kona, Hawaii; sisters, of Charlottesville, Va., and of Winchester, Va.; grandchildren, of Pfungstadt, Germany, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, of Moscow, Idaho, and of Moscow; and numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Anna Baughman; a sister, Catherine Dove; and a brother, Dean Baughman
