Ida Frances Beal, 89, of Lakeport, CA, formerly of Ridgely, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, October 30, 2011.

Frances was born in Lake County on March 30, 1922 to Edith May Wilcox and Walter Truman Wood, both of whom preceded her in death, as did her five brothers, Nolan, Aubrey, Coleman, Thomas and Carlton Wood.

She married Aubrey Beal on June 6, 1939, who passed away in 1978. They had one daughter, Carolyn James and husband, Larry, reside in San Mateo, CA.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgely, where she visited the Nursing Home on a regular basis, helped at Vacation Bible School and assisted in many of the other church functions. She belonged to the Young at Heart Club and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Her special joy was belonging to the Ridgely Woman's Club, where she and her wonderful friends shared many good times.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Ridgely. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery and a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall at the church.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Her love for cooking for others leaves a legacy of fond memories for all of those fortunate enough to enjoy one of her special meals. She has a quick smile for all and a ready and willing spirit to aid anyone who asked for help. She loved her church family and her friends. She was well loved in return, and she will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace, Dear Frances.
